After vaccination, dogs will have some side effects from mild to severe depending on the health condition and resistance of the dog. You need to observe to be aware of possible conditions and take timely actions. Such conditions may include:

  • Local reactions that occur at the injection places may be allergies or abscesses and usually subsides after a few days. You can apply a warm towel to make your dog more comfortable.
  • The dog often shows symptoms like loss of appetite and mild fever because the body is taking in the vaccine. This condition will diminish in 2-3 days.
  • If the dog is allergic to the vaccine, he will probably vomit or suffer diarrhea or urticaria. In this case, you need to monitor the condition and take the dog to the vet if necessary.
  • In case the dog has anaphylactic shock after vaccination, there will be such symptoms as shortness of breath, drop in blood pressure, heart palpitations, and so on. In such a situation, you need to seek urgent intervention immediately.

To ensure better health and monitoring, it is recommended that you have your dog vaccinated in the morning. By doing this, you have enough time to monitor and take timely action. If your dog gets a jab in the afternoon or evening, a vet who does not work the night shift won’t be able to provide emergency care in time.
